ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT :
The Prestigious Dept of Philosophy of Melamora College was established in the year2006. As a discipline of Arts, Philosophy Dept has been offering non-honours courses. The objectives of the dept are-
- To impart theoretical & empirical understanding of the subject to its student .
- To help the students pursue their higher education in philosophy.
- To promote research endeavors of the faculty for better understanding of issues of Philosophy significance in India.

- To bring an overall improvement in the society by imparting quality higher education (value based and skill based education).
- To make our students responsible, knowledgeable and competent citizens of society.
MISSION
The Dept of Philosophy was started with a mission to impart quality higher education for all sections of society especially to the socially,economically,and educationally disadvantaged students of rural areas and TGL(Tea Garden Labours) communities. We aspire to equip students for life, making them not only competent job seekers but also to be self-employed socially committed citizens well equipped with a sense of tolerance and justice by making them aware of their rights and duties for the betterment of the society.
